In 2008 Mrs. Lisa Mitchell was diagnosed with early-stage kidney failure. That was when she contacted the office of Gregory Jaffers, MD, director of the Division of Transplant Surgery at Scott & White Healthcare. Dr. Jaffers explained to Mrs. Mitchell that she would benefit from a dual transplant both a new pair of kidneys and a new pancreas.
