Baylor Scott & White Cancer Center
Each year, about 2,600 new patients in the six-county area that Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center serves are diagnosed with cancer, most commonly lung, breast, prostate, and colorectal cancers. Waco residents are now receiving cancer screening, the most advanced diagnosis and treatment, and follow-up care close to home, with help from Scott & White cancer care experts at the new Baylor Scott & White Cancer Center in Waco.
Other targeted therapies—including chemotherapy and radiation—and expertise among the 12 Scott & White multidisciplinary teams of physicians and caregivers will be brought to this area so that patients can have the best hope for survival and the highest quality of life possible. It’s the kind of care patients need to have available nearby, with minimal disruption to their families’ lives.
Ground was broken on the Baylor Scott & White Cancer Center in Waco in September 2012, and the center was opened to patients in November 2013.
